WHO Warns of Alarming Malnutrition in Gaza as Aid Drops Resume

The World Health Organization says malnutrition in Gaza has reached alarming levels and is worsening rapidly, despite resumed aid deliveries.

Following urgent warnings from over 100 humanitarian groups about the risk of mass starvation, Israel announced limited daily pauses in military operations—up to 10 hours in selected areas—to allow aid corridors. Israeli officials said the move aimed to counter claims of deliberate starvation tactics.

Jordan, Egypt, and the UAE have resumed land and air aid deliveries, with Jordan and the UAE reporting the drop of 25 tonnes of food and essentials.

The health ministry in Gaza reports at least 133 deaths from malnutrition since the war began.

Aid agencies welcomed the pause but called it insufficient. Médecins Sans Frontières described the measure as inadequate, while the UN World Food Programme called for a significant increase in humanitarian access.
