Beatrice Ekweremadu, the wife of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has been released from a UK prison. Mrs Ekweremadu, who was sentenced to five years for charges related to organ harvesting, reportedly returned to Nigeria on Tuesday.
A source, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed her arrival in Abuja after serving her sentence in the United Kingdom. Her release follows the sentencing of her and her husband, alongside Dr. Obinna Obeta, in a UK court.
