Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Emir of Gusau, Ibrahim Bello, who passed away on Friday morning in Abuja at the age of 71 after a prolonged illness.
In a condolence message, Governor Lawal described the late monarch as a respected leader and personal confidant whose wisdom and guidance played a significant role in the governance of the state. He said the Emir’s passing was a great loss to Zamfara, the North, and the nation at large.

The late Emir, who ascended the throne on 16 March 2015, was known for his commitment, dedication, and strong faith during his ten-year reign. Prior to becoming Emir, he served as a senior civil servant, rising to the rank of Permanent Secretary in both the former Sokoto State and Zamfara.
Governor Lawal extended his condolences to the Zamfara State Council of Chiefs, the Gusau Emirate, and the late Emir’s family. He prayed for Allah’s forgiveness for the monarch and for his soul to be granted Aljannah Firdaus.
