Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has rewarded Mrs Marbel Ijeoma Duaka, a health worker from Anambra State, with a fully furnished two-bedroom house and a job offer for her son at Kashim Ibrahim University, Maiduguri.
Mrs Duaka, who has served at the Mafa Primary Healthcare Centre for over 24 years, was honoured for her dedication during the Boko Haram insurgency, remaining in the community when many fled. Governor Zulum praised her commitment, describing her as a symbol of service and resilience.

The award formed part of the governor’s housing allocations to 72 teachers and health workers in Mafa Local Government Area. It follows a similar recognition in 2022, when he rewarded another Igbo teacher for exceptional service. Mrs Duaka described the gesture as the happiest moment of her life.
