16 Victims Of Fresh Mangu Crisis Buried In Plateau State

The Muslim community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau state say they have buried 16 victims of the crisis that occurred in the area between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Local Government Chairman and leader of the First Aid Group of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI-Aid Group), Malam Jafaru Musa, says the funeral prayer was held at Mangu Central Mosque amid tight security, and the deceased were laid to rest at the Hayin Layir graveyard.

He also said a lot of people have been displaced and are in dire need of humanitarian support like food, water, medicine, clothes, blankets, mats and mattresses.

He added that there is relative peace in Mangu because of the security patrols in the area.

The state chapter chairman of the Nigerian Red Cross, Nurudeen Husaini Magaji, says the Red Cross has established three Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), camps, in Mangu town, while so many other people had fled to neighbouring communities in Bauchi State.
