2 Dead, 5 Injured In Eko Bridge Accident

Two persons were confirmed dead, while five others were injured in an accident on Eko Bridge, inward Alaka, Surulere, Lagos.

An official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA, Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, said the agency and other emergency responders carried out an emergency operation at the scene of the fatal accident.

Mr. Taofiq, who serves as Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, also said preliminary investigation showed the accident was caused by brake failure of a fully loaded ‘MAC’ truck which was driving at top speed and collided with five other private vehicles including a commercial mini bus (Korope).

The dead and injured were taken to a nearby general hospital.
