4 Dead, 11 Injured In Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accident

Four persons have been confirmed dead while 11 others sustained injuries in an accident involving a bus at the Aiyetoro axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, Spokesperson of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) confirming the incident yesterday, said the accident was caused by a burst tyre which caused the commercial bus to somersault into a ditch.

According to eyewitness accounts, the bus was coming from Ibadan heading towards Lagos.

Mr Akinbiyi said the deceased have been taken to the Idera morgue in Sagamu, while the injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital in Mowe.

He appealed to drivers to avoid excessive speed, tokunbo tyres, and adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
