At least 500 young Nigerians are set to benefit from the newly launched *Learning for Life* programme—an initiative spearheaded by Diageo Nigeria in partnership with the Lagos State Government to combat youth unemployment.

The programme was formally launched with a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Diageo Nigeria’s Managing Director, Bayo Ali, and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Commissioner for Wealth Creation, Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, praised the effort and confirmed that the number of beneficiaries had doubled from 250 to 500.

The scheme offers classroom instruction, internships, and job placement in the hospitality sector, covering areas such as service skills, communication, budgeting, and workplace ethics.

Open to disadvantaged youths aged 18–27, the training also includes modules on gender inclusion and responsible alcohol use, with stipends and mentorship provided throughout.
