President Bola Tinubu has suspended Mr. AbdulRasheed Bawa, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
A statement released by Mr. Willie Bassey, the Director of Information in the Office of the SGF, says the suspension was informed by the need to allow for proper investigation into weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against Mr Bawa.

The suspended Chairman was directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the EFCC Director of Operations, Abdulkarim Chukkol.
Mr Chukkol will oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.
