The Councillor Representing Kidandan Ward, Abdullahi Ismail, confirmed the incident, lamenting that in the last three weeks, troops have been conducting operations around the area but still the bandits continue to terrorize some communities.

Another community leader, who preferred to remain anonymous, said villagers displaced left behind their foodstuffs and houses due to constant bandits intimidation and harassment.

He also said that soldiers operating in the area killed about six of the bandits on Tuesday.
