Gallant Super Eagles of Nigeria lost 1-2 to hosts Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final match at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday.
The Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong put Nigeria in the lead in the first half, but the Elephants came into the second half with an equaliser by Franck Kessie, and another goal by Sebastian Haller.

A late charge by the eagles wasn’t enough to equalise and possibly send the match into extra time.
The total number of goals conceded by the Eagles in open play throughout the tournament was three.
