The Lagos State Government has arrested 94 individuals during a midnight operation targeting illegal squatters along rail track corridors. The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced the operation on X.com on Wednesday.
The arrests were made following numerous complaints from residents about illegal squatters, miscreants, and suspected criminal activity along the rail tracks.
Among the items recovered from the suspects were a locally fabricated short gun, multiple wraps of substances believed to be Indian hemp, charms, and a jackknife.
The Lagos State Government has emphasised its commitment to addressing safety and security concerns across the state, with plans to continue efforts to clear illegal occupants from critical public spaces.
