Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has announced that he will recommend a ceasefire agreement with the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah to his cabinet for approval. This follows a wave of Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, as tensions remain high in the region.
In a televised address, Netanyahu stated that he would present the ceasefire draft to cabinet ministers later today, setting the stage for a truce after 14 months of conflict that has claimed thousands of lives.
