The House of Representatives Committee on Defence has called for improved funding for the Defence Intelligence Agency, DIA, to ensure it can effectively fulfil its mandate.
Chairman of the committee, Babajimi Benson, made the appeal during an inaugural oversight visit to the DIA headquarters in Abuja.
Established in 1986, the DIA is tasked with providing vital military intelligence to the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence.

Its responsibilities include advancing Nigeria’s defence policy, fostering military cooperation with international partners, safeguarding Nigerian lives, and maintaining the nation’s territorial integrity.
