Governor Uba Sani Releases N548 Million to Settle NUT Dispute

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has authorised the immediate release of N548 million to the Nigerian Union of Teachers’ (NUT) Endwell scheme, a sum previously withheld by the past administration. This move has effectively resolved the long-standing industrial dispute between the union and the Kaduna State Government.

At a news conference in Kaduna, Mubarak Mohammed, the acting Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KASUBEB), explained that the dispute was settled after a series of successful negotiations between the NUT and the state government. He also announced that the NUT Endwell Scheme would undergo structural reforms to enhance efficiency and accountability.

Mohammed further highlighted that since taking office in May 2023, Governor Uba Sani’s administration has remained committed to the advancement of education and the welfare of teachers in the state. 

Ibrahim Dalhatu, the Chairman of the Kaduna State NUT, expressed gratitude for the release of the N548 million, stating that it would significantly improve the welfare of teachers in the region. He also thanked Governor Uba Sani for his efforts in resolving the dispute.
