ASUU threatens strike at Kaduna State University as 200 lecturers reportedly quit

The Academic Staff Union of Universities at Kaduna State University says more than 200 lecturers, including professors, have left the institution over poor conditions of service and the state government’s failure to implement the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU Agreement.

Union chairman Abubakar Abdullahi said the agreement, in effect since January, has yet to be implemented at KASU, leaving its academic staff among the lowest-paid in the country. Repeated letters to university management, the Governing Council, and Governor Uba Sani have been met with no response.

ASUU has given the university and state government a two-week ultimatum to act, warning that failure to comply will trigger a total, indefinite strike.
