JAMB shifts 2025 UTME registration to Feb 3

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will now begin on Monday, February 3, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of Friday, January 31, 2025.

Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, explained in a statement on Friday that the delay was necessary to implement essential adjustments to the registration templates. These adjustments follow the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as directed by the Council for Legal Education.

Additionally, the Board identified issues with some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, which had used deceptive means to gain approval. These centres will now undergo further scrutiny, with the Board disapproving those found to be non-compliant.

JAMB expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the delay and assured candidates and stakeholders that the extra time would be used to ensure a smooth and effective registration process.
