Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has formally signed an Executive Order establishing the state’s Labour and Industrial Committee.
During a brief ceremony at Government House, Uyo, on Thursday, the governor inaugurated the eleven-member committee alongside the newly constituted Bureau of Statistics Board.
According to him, the signing of Executive Order 2 was a critical step in providing the necessary legal framework for the committee’s operations while ongoing legislative processes seek to enact a law granting it full statutory backing.

The Labour and Industrial Committee, chaired by Nse Essien, comprises key stakeholders, including the Commissioner for Labour and Manpower Planning and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, among others.
Governor Eno emphasised that the committee would play a pivotal role in fostering industrial harmony and enhancing labour administration in the state.
