The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to scaling up renewable energy deployment, as a 990kWp solar hybrid mini-grid was inaugurated in Lambata, Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State.
The €9.3 million project, funded by the European Union and co-financed by the German government, was delivered in collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency, REA. Officials say the initiative will provide reliable electricity to more than 3,900 households and businesses, improving living standards in the area.

At the commissioning ceremony on Wednesday, Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu underscored the administration’s determination to extend renewable energy solutions to underserved communities, describing the project as a crucial step towards closing Nigeria’s energy access gap.
