A Magistrate’s Court in Abeokuta has adjourned an assault case against singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, to 26 March. The decision allows prosecutors to merge his charges with those of his workers.
When the case resumed on Wednesday, prosecutors argued that separate trials would waste judicial time. Senior State Counsel Timilehin Oredein informed the court that Portable’s case was linked to a similar case involving nine of his workers, first brought before the court on 6 February.

The defendants face five charges, including conspiracy, assault, and obstructing officials while armed with cutlasses and a firearm. They are accused of assaulting three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
The prosecution requested a short adjournment to consolidate the charges before trial begins. The court granted the request, setting 26 March for the next hearing.
