NAF Personnel Allegedly Invade IKEDC Office Over Electricity Disconnection

The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) has accused personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) of invading its headquarters over the disconnection of electricity at Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Ikeja, Lagos.

IKEDC spokesperson Kingsley Okotie confirmed the incident, alleging that the armed personnel vandalised company property, assaulted staff members, and made away with laptops, phones, and 16 company vehicles. He also stated that the company’s CEO, Folake Soetan, had to take cover during the attack.

According to Okotie, the power disconnection was due to an outstanding debt of over N4 billion. Videos and images reportedly show damaged office equipment, including CCTV cameras and IT infrastructure.

The incident has raised concerns over the use of force in resolving disputes, with IKEDC calling for intervention from relevant authorities.
