Ikeja Electric has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on infrastructure vandalism, following the conviction of three individuals for theft and damage to power assets within its network.
On 5 May, a magistrate court in Ikorodu sentenced Adegbite Jamiu to six months in prison for vandalising a transformer serving Igboye community. His arrest was aided by a vigilant resident who alerted authorities.
Two others—Jeremiah Chukwuemeka and Joshua Udeh—were jailed for one year each by an Ogba magistrate court on 7 May for stealing electricity cables from a transformer in Ikeja GRA.
