One World Media has announced key leadership appointments, with Peter Horrocks OBE confirmed as its new Chair. Horrocks, who has served in an interim capacity for the past year, brings extensive experience from his leadership roles at the BBC and in media development. His appointment is expected to strengthen the organisation’s global ties with journalists, filmmakers, and media professionals.
Joining him on the Board as new Trustees are Radio Now’s Kadaria Ahmed and Catherine McCarthy, who will take on the roles of Co-Chairs in 2026. Ahmed, a respected Nigerian journalist and media entrepreneur, is known for her work in accountability journalism and sits on the Nigerian Board of Trustees of the International Press Institute. McCarthy, a seasoned media executive, has held senior roles at the BBC and now leads a non-profit focused on digital health initiatives.

The appointments come at a critical time when the fight against misinformation and disinformation is at the forefront of global media efforts.
