The Nigerian Army has handed over 75 civilians rescued from Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) strongholds in Sambisa Forest, Borno State.
The civilians—comprising seven men, 34 women, and 34 children—were formally transferred at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri. The handover was announced by Major General Waidi Shuaibu, Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, and was conducted on his behalf by Deputy Theatre Commander Brigadier General Anthony Okpodu.

Military officials say the operation dealt a significant blow to insurgents, destroying command and logistics hubs, makeshift shelters, arms caches, and materials used for making improvised explosive devices. The offensive is reported to have disrupted the group’s operational structures.
Beyond security efforts, Operation Hadin Kai remains engaged in humanitarian initiatives, including support for the World Health Organization’s Reaching Inaccessible Children (RIC) programme.
