The Federal Government has pledged to settle the backlog of unpaid allowances for members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, following the recent increase to ₦77,000 per month.
Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande made the commitment during a current affairs programme monitored by Radio Now’s Newsdesk.

While he did not specify a timeline for the payments, he assured that serving corps members, as well as those enrolled when the increment was announced in September 2024, would receive the arrears.
The government had raised the monthly allowance from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000 in September, but implementation has faced delays despite repeated assurances.
