The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has partnered with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to digitise its examination processes and upgrade its ICT infrastructure. NABTEB’s registrar, Aminu Mohammed, announced the partnership, which was formalised on April 29 during a meeting with NASENI officials at NABTEB’s headquarters in Benin. The move aims to improve the board’s operations, enhance security, and align with the federal government’s goal to fully digitise examinations by 2026.
Mohammed explained that the upgrade would provide NABTEB with the necessary infrastructure to manage its wide range of responsibilities, including exam registration, question paper development, distribution, and certification.

He revealed that as part of the collaboration, NASENI will help establish a dedicated ICT department at NABTEB and deliver a fully equipped ICT building within six months. Mohammed expressed optimism that the partnership would ensure NABTEB’s examinations remain relevant and secure in the digital age.
Bashir Aliyu, NASENI’s special adviser on emerging technology, assured NABTEB of the agency’s full support in its digitisation efforts, emphasising that the agency’s expertise in ICT would help NABTEB leapfrog into the digital era.
