Afrobeats singer Harrysong has urged the Nigerian government to implement effective structures that protect creative works and tackle the growing threat of music piracy.

His remarks came during a televised Youth Forum programme marking President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office. The event focused on key issues affecting young Nigerians across education, health, enterprise, and the arts.

While contributing to a panel discussion on the creative sector, the artist stressed the need for stronger government engagement with experienced industry stakeholders. He argued that meaningful progress would only come through dialogue with those who understand the complexities of the business.

Harrysong also emphasised the importance of transparency and accountability within the music industry, noting that the absence of proper systems continues to hinder reinvestment and profitability in the local entertainment space.
