Troops Foil Terror Plots and Arrest Two Suspects in Taraba

Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested two suspected terrorists in separate operations in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State. One of the suspects, 45-year-old Felix Myina, is believed to be a senior member of a kidnapping and banditry ring led by a wanted kingpin known as Yellow.

A Tecno phone was recovered from Myina at the time of his arrest, while another suspect, 26-year-old Abubakar Yusuf, linked to ISWAP, was intercepted while performing suspicious rituals near a known target area in Wukari. Items found on him included a dead chicken, nine rotten eggs, an animal horn, and a bottle containing a powdered substance and fresh meat.

Military authorities say Yusuf was allegedly attempting to spiritually pave the way for a terrorist attack in the area. Both men are in custody and are said to be cooperating with investigators.

Commander of the 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, praised the troops and residents for their vigilance, urging the public to remain alert and report suspicious activity to support ongoing efforts to secure the state.
