The Defence Headquarters says troops have killed several terrorists, including a notorious kingpin known as Mai Dada, and recovered large quantities of arms in sweeping operations across multiple regions.
In a statement issued Sunday, Defence Media Operations Director, Major General Markus Kangye, confirmed the operations spanned June 25–26, covering the North East, North West, North Central, and South South.

In Zamfara, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma neutralised Mai Dada during a fierce counterattack in Maru Local Government Area. In Kaduna, soldiers repelled an ambush in Birnin Gwari, recovering an AK-47 and 30 rounds of ammunition.
In Borno, multiple raids by troops of Operation Hadin Kai led to the seizure of over 1,600 rounds of ammunition and the dismantling of insurgent hideouts. In Benue, five kidnapped victims were rescued.
Elsewhere, arrests were made in Bayelsa, Edo, and Plateau States, with firearms and logistics materials recovered.
