Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has urged African military leaders to embrace technology, including artificial intelligence, in the fight against terrorism. He made the call at the Africa Chief of Defence Staff Conference which opened in Abuja on Monday.
General Musa said security threats across the continent have evolved beyond conventional warfare, describing them as digital, asymmetric and often invisible. He called for greater investment in cyber-defence, artificial intelligence and indigenous military technology to counter groups such as Boko Haram, ISWAP, Al-Qaeda and Al-Shabaab.
