Sixteen candidates contesting the November 8 Anambra governorship election will sign a peace accord on November 3 at the International Convention Centre, Awka. The agreement, facilitated by the Kukah Centre under the National Peace Committee, NPC, seeks to ensure calm before, during, and after the polls.
Executive Director of the Kukah Centre, Reverend Father Atta Barkindo, said the ceremony will be attended by General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd), the Inspector-General of Police, and INEC Chairman. Once signed, the NPC will be empowered to mediate disputes and document any breaches through its election situation room.
