Nigeria’s Entertainment Industry Surges 11% as Music and Esports Drive Record Growth

Nigeria’s entertainment and media industry grew by 11.2 percent in 2024, cementing its place as Africa’s fastest-expanding market, according to PwC’s *Africa Entertainment and Media Outlook 2025–2029*. Total revenue climbed to $4.1 billion from $3.7 billion the previous year, driven by strong gains in music, esports, and internet advertising.

Mobile and fixed services remained the largest segment, generating $3.3 billion in 2024, while online advertising surged to $246 million. Video games and esports grew to $180 million, and music, radio, and podcasts reached $59 million.
