At least 109 children are among more than 400 people who have died from hunger and malnutrition in Gaza since the start of the year, according to the World Health Organization. The UN agency says the deaths were preventable, blaming severe aid shortages despite the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that the flow of humanitarian aid remains far below need, with only 200 to 300 trucks entering Gaza daily—half the amount agreed under the US-brokered deal. Many of the trucks, he noted, carry commercial goods beyond the reach of ordinary families.

More than 600,000 people are now facing “catastrophic” food insecurity, as Gaza’s health system continues to crumble after years of conflict.
