Plane Carrying 12 Foreign Tourists Crashes in Kenya’s Coastal Region

Kenyan authorities have confirmed that a plane carrying 12 foreign tourists has crashed in Kwale County, near the country’s coast. The aircraft was headed for the Maasai Mara National Reserve and went down shortly after takeoff early Tuesday morning.

Images published by the ‘Daily Nation’ showed the aircraft engulfed in flames, with debris scattered across the hilly terrain. Witnesses said the area was covered in fog following heavy rainfall overnight.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said emergency teams and government agencies were already on site investigating the cause of the crash and assessing the damage. Local residents reported hearing a loud explosion before rushing to the burning wreckage.

Kwale County Commissioner Stephen Orinde confirmed that all the passengers were foreign nationals, adding that their nationalities would be released after official identification by the authorities.
