Rapper Oladips has alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, collected ₦10 million from him before his release following his arrest last November. The artist was detained for five days after a midnight raid in his Lagos estate, where he and several neighbours were held on suspicion of internet fraud.
In a recent interview on the ‘Trending’ podcast, Oladips claimed investigators found nothing incriminating against him yet demanded money before his release. He described the EFCC detention centre as overcrowded and unhygienic, adding that fellow musician Zlatan Ibile arranged meals for him during his stay.

Reflecting on his experience, Oladips said he has no plans to pursue legal action, lamenting, “Nigeria just happened to me.” The EFCC has yet to respond to his allegations.
