Nigeria will witness its first artificial intelligence-powered election monitoring system during the Anambra governorship poll on November 8. Developed by Soft Smart Enterprise Solutions, the innovation promises real-time updates from polling units across the state — a move expected to enhance transparency and rebuild public trust in the electoral process.
Managing Director Charles Yakubu, speaking in Abuja, said the system captures and analyses INEC’s Form EC8A result sheets with about 95 per cent accuracy. The data will appear live as results are uploaded to the electoral commission’s Result Viewing Portal.

Yakubu described the initiative as a “historic moment,” noting that it allows citizens to track results down to each polling unit. The technology can also project likely winners once 40 per cent of votes have been uploaded, mirroring global election practices.
