President Tinubu Orders Swift Resolution of ASUU Dispute to Avert Another Strike

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Minister of Education, Mr Olatunji Alausa, to swiftly resolve the ongoing dispute with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, stressing that he will not allow another strike to disrupt academic activities.

Speaking after meeting the President at the Villa, Mr Alausa said the government had met nearly all of ASUU’s demands and returned to the negotiation table to secure more concessions. He described the union’s last six-day strike as unnecessary and assured that talks were progressing smoothly.
