The Abia Derby produced no winner, but once again captured the fierce rivalry and pride that define football in Nigeria’s East. In a tense contest at Umuahia, Abia Warriors and Enyimba battled to a goalless draw marked by tactical discipline and raw emotion.
Abia Warriors began brightly, testing Enyimba’s defensive shape, but goalkeeper Kelvin Ogunga’s superb point-blank save denied what looked like a certain goal. Enyimba responded after the break, pushing forward but finding no breakthrough in a match of narrow margins.

It was the fourth goalless Abia Derby since 2014, a result both sides accepted with respect. Enyimba coach Stanley Eguma praised his team’s composure and vowed to build on the result ahead of their next home fixture against Wikki Tourist.
