The Lagos State Government has postponed the planned rehabilitation works on the Lekki Ajah corridor. The project, which was scheduled to begin on 15 November, has been delayed to a later date, according to the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi.
In a statement issued on his X account, Mr Osiyemi said a new commencement date would be communicated in due course. He noted that preliminary activities would continue until the end of November, but full rehabilitation works would not begin until the revised schedule is announced.
The State Government had earlier announced an extensive eight month rehabilitation project on the corridor, expected to run from 15 November 2025 to 15 July 2026. The initiative aims to improve road infrastructure and ease persistent traffic congestion along one of Lagos’ busiest routes.

The project will be carried out in two phases, with Phase One covering the stretch from the Lekki first toll gate to the second toll gate, divided into seven sections. Phase Two will span from the second toll gate to the Ajah under bridge and will be executed in four sections.
