Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been named the 2025 CAF Women’s National Team of the Year, rounding off a dominant and emotionally charged campaign. The award was presented on Wednesday at the CAF Awards ceremony held at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat, Morocco.
The recognition follows a landmark year in which the Falcons clinched their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title under head coach Justin Madugu. Nigeria swept through the group stage without conceding, beating Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria, before powering past Zambia and edging South Africa to reach the final.

Against hosts Morocco, the Falcons produced a memorable comeback, overturning a 2–0 deficit to win 3–2. Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie also received individual nominations, underscoring Nigeria’s growing influence in women’s football.
