Senate confirms 64 ambassadorial nominees, raise concern over Zamfara exclusion

National Assembly Approves 14-Year Jail Term for Lecturers Convicted of Sexual Harassment

The Senate has confirmed 64 career and non-career ambassadorial nominees after considering a report by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The confirmation followed the presentation of the committee’s report by its chairman, Senator Sani Bello, which was adopted by lawmakers during plenary.

During the session, Senator Sahabi Yau raised concerns over the absence of any nominee from Zamfara State, urging that the omission be brought to the attention of President Bola Tinubu.

In response, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio said the list was not exhaustive and assured lawmakers that additional ambassadorial nominations were expected, adding that Zamfara State would not be excluded.
