The Federal Government has approved mandatory drug tests for all applicants seeking employment in the public service.

This was announced on Monday by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen.

The measure is aimed at reducing the misuse of illicit drugs among prospective civil servants and strengthening workplace integrity. Under the policy, applicants must undergo a drug screening as part of the recruitment process before their names are forwarded to relevant ministries and agencies.
