Residents of Offa community in Kwara State were thrown into panic late on Thursday night after a series of loud explosions rocked parts of the town. The blasts, which occurred close to midnight, damaged several houses and shops.
Eyewitnesses said the explosions affected areas including Yidi and Adeleke, sending fear through surrounding neighbourhoods.
Unexploded aerial objects described by residents as bombs were later discovered, raising concerns among locals. The incident followed confirmation by Nigeria and the United States of a joint drone strike on a suspected ISIL enclave in Sokoto State on Thursday.

Kwara State Police spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi, said investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the explosions. Security agencies, including military personnel, have been deployed to maintain order and ensure the safety of residents in the area.
