Nasarawa Varsities Shut Down as Workers Embark on Strike

Academic and non academic staff in Nasarawa State owned tertiary institutions have begun an indefinite strike following unresolved disputes with the state government.

The leadership of the Joint Unions of Nasarawa State Tertiary Institutions said the strike is over unpaid salaries, allowances and other welfare issues. They said repeated engagements with authorities have failed to yield results.

The industrial action has disrupted academic activities across affected institutions. Students have been advised to remain off campus until further notice.
