The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the government to review wages for workers in 2026. The union said current income levels are insufficient to meet rising living costs and inflation.
NLC President Joe Ajaero told reporters the demand reflects widespread hardship faced by workers across sectors. He said labour leaders will engage the government and employers to push for a fair wage adjustment.
The union also urged policymakers to address unemployment and ensure decent working conditions. Ajaero said wage review is central to economic justice and social stability.
