Kaduna to begin $200m integrated poultry project

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, says a proposed 200 million dollar integrated poultry development project in the state is expected to generate more than 450 million dollars annually and create over 350,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The governor made the announcement during a meeting with the Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Maiha, held on Thursday to align federal and state efforts ahead of the project’s groundbreaking. He thanked President Bola Tinubu for selecting Kaduna to lead the initiative.

Governor Sani said the project followed agreements concluded with the Chinese government during a visit to Beijing in December 2025. He said he toured CP Foods Layers and Eggs Limited in China, where he observed operations spanning production, processing, packaging and distribution.

He described the facility, which produces nearly three million eggs daily, as a model for the Kaduna project. The governor said the 200 million dollar partnership with Chinese investors is expected to boost food security, create jobs and position Kaduna as a leading agribusiness hub.
