Super Eagles climb to 26th in latest FIFA rankings

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have climbed to 26th place in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Monday, marking their highest global position since May 2010. The team moved up 12 places from 38th and is now ranked third in Africa.

The rise follows Nigeria’s strong performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles went unbeaten in regular time and finished with a bronze medal. Nigeria lost to Morocco on penalties in the semi final, while Senegal went on to win the tournament.
