Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have discovered a mass grave containing the bodies of about 20 terrorists in the Timbuktu Triangle during ongoing military operations. The Media Information Officer of the Theatre Command, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, said the bodies were those of terrorists killed in encounters with troops and buried by their colleagues.
He said troops had cleared and dominated key terrorist locations in the area, including Tergejeri, Chiralia and the Ajigin and Abirma general areas, engaging fleeing insurgents and neutralising several of them. Lieutenant Colonel Uba also disclosed that troops encountered two vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices about six kilometres north of Chilaria, with one successfully neutralised through swift action.
