Your Failed Cover-up of Kaduna Abduction Shameful, PDP Chides APC

The Peoples Democratic Party has criticised the initial denial by the Kaduna State Police Command of the abduction of worshippers from Kajuru Local Government Area, describing it as shameful. Gunmen attacked three churches in the area on Sunday and abducted more than 100 people during services.

On Monday, the state commissioner of police, Muhammad Rabiu, dismissed reports of the incident, describing them as false and challenging those making the claims to provide details of the victims. However, on Tuesday, the force public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the abductions did take place and said tactical and intelligence assets had been deployed to rescue the victims.

In a statement on Wednesday, the PDP spokesperson, Ini Ememobong, said the denial by the police and local authorities showed a pattern of treating insecurity lightly. He called on the Kaduna police command and the Kajuru council chairman to apologise and urged the federal government to deploy a high-powered security team to ensure the safe return of those abducted.
