President Tinubu to Embark on State Visit to Türkiye

President Tinubu to Embark on State Visit to Turkey

President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Monday for a state visit to Türkiye, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between both countries. The visit will focus on expanding cooperation in areas including security, education, social development, innovation and aviation.

In a statement, the presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, said discussions during the visit would centre on finance, communications, trade and investment. He added that Nigeria and Türkiye are expected to sign memoranda of understanding covering scientific research, energy, technical cooperation, media and communications, military cooperation and protocol, alongside a business forum bringing together investors from both countries.

The delegation accompanying the president includes Yusuf Tuggar, minister of foreign affairs; Lateef Fagbemi, attorney general of the federation and minister of justice; Christopher Musa, minister of defence; and Jimi Benson, chairman of the House committee on defense among others.
